Iwill P4S I845 Motherboard Review
The price tag of the RD-RAM is still high compared to the current PC133 SDRAM and it seems logical for Intel to release chipset that enables native supports for PC133 ram. SiS nejde do RDRAMů Hardware, Základní desky
Na Internetu kolovaly zvěsti, že SiS příští rok uvede chipset pro Pentium 4 s podporou RDRAM pamětí. SiS to nakonec opravdu potvrdil a uvedl, že opravdu hodlal uvést příští rok takový chipset, ale že tyto plány nakonec vzaly za své. Rozhodl se tak prý poté, co sám Intel ukončil vývoj chipsetu Tulloch, což měl být nástupce současného i850 a uvedl, že namísto Tullochu jen inovuje právě i850. Zdá se, že do Rambus pamětí se nikdo nehrne, má tedy tento typ pamětí vůbec nějakou budoucnost v pécéčkách?

DDR333 se už prodává Hardware, Základní desky
Ačkoli (zatím) není na trhu žádná základní deska, která by dokázala využít DDR333 paměti (166MHz), začaly se v Japonsku tyto paměti prodávat. Kapacita, s kterou začínají, je 256MB a obsahují 6ns chipy od Nanye. DDR333 paměti jsou samozřejmě schopny pracovat i na 133MHz, tedy jako DDR266. Cena těchto paměťových modulů je v Japonsku přibližně dvakrát vyšší, než cena DDR266 modulů stejné kapacity. V současné době existují dva chipsety podporující tyto paměti: SiS645 pro Pentium 4 a ALi MAGiK 1 Rev. C pro Athlony. Zatím však nejsou k dispozici žádné základní desky s těmito chipsety, ale jejich "příchod" se očekává každým dnem. Konkrétně víme o ECS P4S5A (SiS645), u kterého se očekává začátek prodeje do dvou týdnů a Iwill už distribuuje finální vzorky mainboardu XP333 (ALi MAGiK 1 Rev. C).
